Hidden within one of North Colombo’s most elite neighbourhoods lies Tintagel, a lavish 10-suite boutique hotel set within the walls of a heritage city residence. It was restored and turned into a hotel by Shanth Fernando, a highly regarded Sri Lankan designer. Like all of his properties, Tintagel is slick, stylish and luxurious with original floors, a beautiful wooden staircase and wonderful oversized sofas. The suites are beautiful with fantastic four-poster beds, contemporary bathrooms and oriental wardrobes. Tintagel also boasts a swimming pool, a library, a small gym as well as a steam room. There’s also a beautiful walled in garden covered in climbing plants, the ideal place to enjoy a meal. We feel this is one of Colombo’s best hotels, however please note they do not have a license to serve alcohol.
