Opened in 2012, the Grand Uda Walawe is a clean, modern and welcome addition to an area with very limited hotel options. The 79 room property sits within 7 acres of land, just 500 metres from the elephant orphanage and a five minute drive from Uda Walawe National Park. The rooms are spacious and are by no means luxurious but they do offer a good level of comfort. There’s a great pool central to the property, a gym and a large buffet restaurant serving international and Sri Lankan cuisine. We feel this is a good value and comfortable base, ideal when visiting Uda Walawe National Park.
