This sleek and stylish property offers comfort, style and a good range of facilities on one of West Sri Lanka’s best beaches. Built in 1972, the property was originally designed by Geoffrey Bawa but has now been completely refurbished and turned into a contemporary 75-room hotel. The rooms vary in terms of size and location but expect sleek wooden floors, white sheets, modern bathrooms and contemporary furniture. All rooms face towards the pool and gardens and have partial sea views. The Superior Rooms are great for families as they can interconnect and open straight out to the pool and gardens, whereas the Standard Rooms offer better views, as they are higher up. There’s a large glassy pool not far from the beach, two restaurants, as well as a tranquil spa. This is a good option for those wanting to avoid the big international beach hotels but are still looking for a range of restaurants and facilities.
