Day 1

Overnight flight to Sri Lanka.

Day 2

Today you will arrive into Colombo where your private chauffeur guide will meet you and drop you off at your hotel in the nearby fishing town of Negombo, where you can relax for the rest of the day.

Day 3

You will drive straight out of Negombo and up to Kandy in the hills, a journey that normally takes around 3.5 hours. We recommend visiting The Temple of the Tooth this evening to witness a traditional puja ceremony.

Day 4

Today you will enjoy a guided tour around Kandy. Enjoy some time at leisure this afternoon to sample some delicious street food.

Day 5

This morning you'll be dropped off at the nearby train station. This train journey from Kandy up into the Tea Country is bound to be a highlight of your trip as the scenery is incredibly beautiful! You will be picked up on arrival and you can relax at your accommodation for the afternoon.

Day 6

Enjoy today completely at leisure. The tea region is one of Sri Lanka's most scenic areas so you can enjoy the views, go for a guided walk in Horton Plains National Park, visit a local tea factory, or opt for High Tea Sri Lankan style!

Day 7

You will be driven south to Uda Walawe National Park today, a journey that should take approx. 3 hours. This area is home to hundreds of elephants and endemic birds. This afternoon enjoy a jeep safari inside the park.

Day 8

Visit the local Elephant Transit Centre for orphaned elephants, which works closely with the National Park for wildlife conservation, before heading to the southwest coast to an idyllic beach destination en route to Colombo. Here you can simply relax in the sun.

Day 9

Enjoy today completely at leisure.

Today you will be driven back to the airport for your flight home.

This wonderful journey has been designed for first time visitors who are a little short on time as it packs a lot in to just 11 days. After an overnight stay in Negombo after your long journey, the trip heads straight to Kandy, a historic city in the hills that is home to the Temple of the Tooth. You’ll then continue south via train up into the tea plantations. The hill country is one of the most spectacular landscapes in Sri Lanka, and enjoying the views from the train is an absolute delight. After enjoying walks and colonial accommodation in the hills the journey continues to Udawalawe National Park, a wild area home to a plethora of birds as well as wild elephants that can be tracked in a jeep. From here we transfer you down to the coast for 3 nights in a beautiful beach location, allowing you to relax for the rest of your holiday.
